By limiting the pre-entry window to just 30 days, the timeframe within which pilgrims must travel to Saudi Arabia is being tightened. However, the duration of stay with the Umrah visa is being kept unchanged at 90 days.

The GCC Grand Tours Visa or Unified Visa
Following the pilot trials in late 2025, the GCC Grand Tours Visa is planned for rollout in 2026. This is a new single visa system that will allow tourists to visit all 6 GCC countries (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman) with a single permit.

Protocols for Hajj Requirements
For Hajj 2026, health criteria to qualify for travel are being made far stricter. Travelers will have to provide proof of good health and declare that they are disease-free. Those undergoing chemo (for cancer), suffering from severe heart/kidney/neurological diseases, having active infectious diseases, or facing dementia are not allowed to travel for Hajj. Further, pregnant women in their last trimester are also banned from travel.
Further, tourists must take mandatory vaccines for Meningococcal Meningitis (ACWY), Polio, Yellow Fever, and COVID-19, and provide documentation for the same. Additionally, it is recommended that people are also vaccinated against seasonal influenza, Hepatitis A and B, and have all other routine immunizations (Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis).

Instead of seeking manual bank statements and proof of finances from travelers, ‘Visa by Profile’ accesses the financial profile of the traveler through the Visa card to obtain key details like credit score, spending, etc.
To apply, visit the unified Saudi e-visa portal or participating bank platforms and authorize them to access your financial data by linking your Visa/Mastercard. The system will check your financial standing and ability to travel and issue an instant visa if the criteria are met.
